Delaney Jane Kuepper

Below you can see a few friends, hobbies and things in general that I like.

Me warming up for the Tecolote 5000 in San Diego. I raced two events for 4,000 meters and took third place in the 14 and under division.

I got 1st place Girls' Division 12 and under at the
San Diego Canoe and Kayak Clubs 3rd Annual Turkey Paddle.

Me hanging out with Bethany Hamilton at good friend Jon Sundt's home. Bethany is a big supporter of the
Natural High non-profit.

New SUP Surfboard
Dave Daum directs me on how to use a special type of rasp to begin the process of making the step down rails on my new SUP Surfboard. It is a scaled down version of Daniel Hughes' board. My new board is 7'4" x 25" x 3.5 (volume is 74 liters).

2012 Stand Up for the Cure, Newport Dunes
Wow what a turnout. There were about 700 people and many were paddling to help raise awareness of breast cancer. We broke a Guiness Book World Record for the largest group SUP lesson. We did a 5k paddle and I saw lots of friends.

Coco, Me, Izzy - 3 Surf Divas :)  Thanks for being my sponsor!

Zane Schweitzer, Me, his sister Shelby

Me and my friend Daniel Hughes who rides for King's Paddle Sports.

2012 Mickey Munoz Mongoose Cup
Great weather, got to see my friends and make some new ones. Thanks to Ian and Jason for helping me with my paddle stroke technique and for lending me their pfd. Had fun at the clinics and the 2 mile fun paddle below. Josh is to my left and dad in front. Ed took the picture on his Go Pro. Thanks Ed!

My New Race Board for my charity Paddle for Rady Children's Hospital
Today I get to try out my new race board. It sure looks fast and I think the colors came out really nice. Thanks again to everyone at King's! Maybe I can keep up a little better now. The dimensions are 10'6" x 24" x 4"

Hal Rosoff Race at Newport Aquatic Center

I went to the race with my dad and we had a great time. Our friends from King's were there, of course, and I got a chance to watch Danny Ching race.

King's Paddle Sports
Master Shaper Dave Daum from King's Paddlesports working on my new Stand Up Paddle Board! He is the best shaper and I got to watch him shape my board from start to finish (it must have taken a day to get all the foam out of my hair). He also let me make cool drawings on his shaping room walls. I learned a lot about what it takes to make one of these boards. A lot of time, expertise and focus. I just love Dave and Rhonda and all the people at King's. I can't wait to get my new board. It is going to be AWESOME!

San Diego Canoe and Kayak Club - 2nd Annual Turkey Paddle
There was a great turn out and great weather for the SDCKT SUP paddle event. Everybody was having a blast while burning off all the calories from Thanksgiving. I participated in my first organized paddle event and gave some of the older boys a run for their money by getting 1st Place in my age division.

Me getting tips from Stand Up Paddle Athlete Extraordinaire Terri Plunkett

Update 11/2011: I just got my new board and can't wait to hit the surf. My dad and I spent a lot of time trying to design a board that would work just right for me. I only weigh 60 pounds so we wanted to get the volume and shape just right. That way it would both float me well and allow me to practice maneuvers on the waves. It is basically a mini "Dauminator" model with a 20.5" nose to help me practice nose riding.

I like the powder blue deck and we put a cool Surf Diva logo on the top. Surf Diva is the coolest place. They are one of my sponsors. I love their clothes and I started attending their surf camps when I was five. King's was able to print out this design on the bottom of my board that my dad and I found on the internet. My dad said it reminded him of some designs that OP did in the 70's. You can't tell in the picture but we added a Jumbo nose guard from Surf Co Hawaii and some Pro Teck Power Flex Fins as well that help prevent you from getting cut. They are the Powerflex series. I have used these before and I really like they way they surf. The dimensions of my board are 7' long x 24" wide x 3" thick.

Battle of the Paddle 2011- Dana Point, CA
I got to visit a lot of my friends at Kings Paddle Sports and meet some new people that are the best in the sport. I saw paddlers like Kai Lenny, Chuck Patterson, Candice Appleby, Danny Ching and a lot more. I also got to meet Gerry Lopez. He is in a lot of my dad's dvd's and he was super nice and friendly.

Monterey Bay Aquarium - Underwater Explorers
This was an amazing experience. I got to experience a lot of underwater sea life and it was my first time using scuba equipment. If you love the ocean you have got to try this.

4 Pound 10 Ounce rainbow Trout - Lake Tahoe
I caught this trout using a G Loomis ultralight set up with 2 lb. fluoroclear line. I was using Berkley Power Worms (fluorescent orange) with a small split shot. This is my largest rainbow so far and it was an amazing fight. It jumped several times and almost broke me off a few times. We cooked it up back at camp and it tasted great.

"Endless Summer" Star, Mike Hynson
I got the chance to meet Mike Hynson at the Encinitas Library when he was doing a book signing for his new book Transcendental Memories of a Surf Rebel. I have seen Endless Summer endless times and wanted to meet him so my dad took me. The funniest part of the movie is when they packed one bandaid and some wax for a 3 month trip.

ASR Show/Sacred Craft 2010
I really enjoyed seeing all the surf companies at the ASR show. I got to meet a lot of nice people and see a lot of cool clothing designs and new products that will come out next year. I especially liked watching the skate boarders on the half pipe and watching the shapers at the Sacred Craft hall.

Surf Diva Camp 2010
Just finished another fun week of Surf Diva camp. This year one of my friends joined me (Kai). I had a great time with all the activities. Izzy and Coco that started Surf Diva are the coolest people ever and I love surfing with them in La Jolla. All my friends want to surf with me now.
